Louis was found on the highway. He was dirty, skinny and very neglected. He weighed 25 kg and his fur was mat and he had fur loss all over his body. Soon we discovered he had leishmaniose. He did the usual treatment with Milteforam and Alopurinol and a few months later he was like another dog. He is now 29 kg and his fur is shiny and no fur loss anywhere. He reacted very well to the treatment and his blood tests are now very good. He will have to take medication for life as leishmaniose is not curable but can be kept under control but this medication, Alopurinol, is not expensive and easy to administer. At least to Louis, he has great apetite.
Louis is an extremely gentle dog. He is very gentle with people and he likes human attention. He is also social with all dogs, males and females and all sizes. Louis is simply very gentle and very friendly.
He walks well on the leash.
