Welcome to Dogs of Portugal

More than 3,000 adoptions since 2012

ABOUT US

We are a non-profit group of volunteers with the sole mission of supporting Portugal’s largest dog sanctuary, O Cantinho da Milu, which rescues and homes 700+ abandoned and mistreated dogs and animals on a multi-acre property located in Setúbal, Portugal.

Dogs of Portugal is a culturally diverse group of highly motivated volunteers who devote their time to improving the lives of animals and finding them loving homes. DOP facilitates the rehoming of dogs and cats to local and international adopters both within Portugal and globally, including Germany, Luxembourg, Denmark, Sweden, France, UK and Canada.

OUR MISSION

The Core of Dogs of Portugal is composed of people with years of experience as volunteers and even ex-Directors of some of the most highly regarded animal charities throughout Portugal. These core members coordinate their own projects, manage their own resources and designate their own objectives and timetable. Foresight and Planning are paramount: All projects of Dogs of Portugal are to be finished, within schedule and within budget!

We are better because: we have shed like an old skin the paralysing, bureaucratic structures that plague most of other animal charities.

We do things better because: we have the experience, the skills and the know-how.

We will be better because: our organization is in perpetual change:

We learn from our mistakes

We innovate

We upgrade

We deliver what we promise

OUR LOCATION

The sanctuary is located in a secluded property in Setúbal, Portugal.

DOGS FOR ADOPTION

Anna

Anna

Anna is very sweet, extremely gentle and just so nice. She is lovely with people and social with other dogs. She walks well on the leash. She is quite calm, she likes to spend her days chilling but she is also very agile and she can jump high if she wants.
