La Rose Noire was surrendered to the shelter with 6 puppies and another dog who was the father of the puppies by their owners. Surrendered is maybe an overstatement. The people arrived at the closing of the shelter, when they heard the shelter was full to the breaking point and it was difficult to receive more dogs, they just opened the boot of the car, dumped the dogs and the puppies on the ground and drove away leaving the shelter staff to catch the puppies that run in all directions.

The mum, La Rose Noire (the name we gave) is just the sweetest. She is a very caring mum to her puppies, she is also extremely gentle with people and friendly with other dogs. She walks well on the leash.
While some mums get worried when people or dogs approach their puppies, she is calm about it, very generous and trusting. She think people can do no wrong…. even if she was abandoned.
