Max´s owner moved abroad and she asked for help. If Max could stay in the shelter for a short time until she sorts out her new life and organises a dog friendly accommodation and then she will come and get him. Of course we always want to help especially if it means a dog not loosing its home. But we have heard those stories before and they rarely finish with a happy ending. In this case things have also developed as expected. A short time has become a longer time. A month, two months, ten months… the owner was never ready to get him. Nearly a year has passed and now she admitted that she does not intend to take him back anymore and as he is already in the shelter he can stay there. Always the same story…
Max deserves better. He is a great dog. Not only stunning and beautiful but also very gentle. He is lovely with people. Obedient. He walks well on the leash. He is very strong, he could pull if he wanted but he just walks beautifully. He sits on command. He lets us take things from him. He is intelligent, quick learner and food oriented.
Max is also friendly with other dogs. No conflicts. Males and females, alike. You would expect a dog of his breed not be friendly with other male dogs but not at all, he does not mind.
Max is a great dog. And he deserves the best home.
