Story, Personality, Others:
Troy had a loving home but his owner at some point could not care for himself so he had to go to an assisted living facility. His daughter took Troy home but Troy was very nervous about this change so he bit her and her husband. They did not give him much time to adapt, they took him immediately to the vet to have him euthanised. The vet was sorry for him so asked the shelter to receive him.
When Troy was brought to the shelter he was even more nervous. He was snapping at everyone, noone could touch him. He was brought with his harness and we could not take him off, he would bite. But we gave him time. After around a month Troy started to trust and now he never snaps anymore. He is a happy dog who enjoys cuddles and he even approaches strangers. He is absolutely dedicated to people he knows. He walks well on the leash. He is absolutely unproblematic with other dogs.
While we know that he can get snappy in a stressful environment, we know he is not aggressive and in a loving home given due time to adapt he will be a lovely dog.
