Boo was surrendered by her owner with two puppies. The guy was a person who did not care about the dog, he just had her in the yard left to her own devices and did not care about her. When she had puppies he did not want her anymore. He said she gave birth to 8 puppies but “he could not find the others”.
Boo when she was brought to us was very nervous, she did not know what was going on and she was very defensive about her puppies. Probably she understood there were the only ones left and wanted to defend them with her life. She did not let anyone enter her kennel. But with time she started to trust the people that she was seeing every day and soon after we could do anything with the puppies and she let us.
She revealed herself gentle and affectionate with people she knows. We believe once she was adopted she would be absolutely dedicated to her owner. At the same time she is mistrustful with strangers and she happened to bark at them or even nip at their trousers from the back. She would be an excellent guard not letting the strangers to roam around her territory. Mind you, she is not a dog for everyone. Only for someone experienced enough to handle such behaviour. Still we are hoping that the right home will appear.
