Story, Personality, Others:

Herby was found on the street with his companion, Harry. They appeared one day, probably dumped by their owner on the street, as they were not street dogs at all. They were on the street for quite long and people were feeding them, otherwise they would not have survived but they deserved a better life than just to be on the street. So they were picked up by municipal services and then brought to us.

Herby is extremely gentle and sweet. It is heart breaking to think that this boy had to survive many months on the street. And noone has enough heart to pick him up. He is very sweet with people, accepts cuddles, and never gets upset by anything. The healing after the castration did not go well at the beginning, the sutures were infected but he let people do everything even if it must have ached him.

Herby has some cataracts on his eyes but he seems still to see well, he orientates himself well, he walks around the shelter fine. He also has a heart insufficiency. It is common in small dogs at old age. He needs 4 medications given every 12 hours. The total cost of medications is 40€ per month. If he gets adopted we can help the new family with the medications.

Herby is social with other dogs, very gentle and sweet and he deserves a million to have finally a loving home. He walks well on the leash. He must have had a home one day….
