Nina was kept by someone on the chain in an empty piece of land that she was supposed to guard (although how a dog on the chain can guard?). The land was just full of junk and whoever owner it appeared there irregularly to give Nina some food. There were also lots of cats living there so they were Nina´s only company and friends.
The municipal authorities removed Nina from there and took her to a municipal kennel from which she was brought to us. There are many other dogs in her situation all over Portugal and those that could act close their eyes. Nina was one of the lucky ones, she still has a chance for happiness and love.
Nina is very sweet and gentle. She is lovely with people. Friendly, cuddly and social. She is nice with other dogs. She walks well on the leash.
