Story, Personality, Others:

Flor was kept by her “owner” in a yard full of junk left to her own devices. She was hungry, sick, neglected. When finally he did not want her anymore and she was brought to us she had leishmaniose, wounds on her body and the ears dripping of blood. She also could hardly walk due to arthritis. In fact she is not that old but she has been so neglected that with all her problems she could pass for an older dog…

We did all we could to help her. For arthritis she gets a supplement which makes her more comfortable and now she walks. Still, she prefers to back in the sun so she will just walk to the next sunny spot and lie down. For leishmaniose we did Milteforam treatment which generally boosted her but especially it did miracles to her ears, the wounds have closed. She is now taking a daily dose of Alopurinol.

She resulted to be an extremely gentle dog. She is very sweet, very friendly, mellow and affectionate. Lovely with people and equally with other dogs. It is very uncommon for a dog like her to get adopted but this is exactly what she would need, even more than the others. A loving home.
