Story, Personality, Others:

Remi was brought to us from a municipal pound, in a group of 8 dogs. This pound promised they were going to do things differently and we were naive to believe. They would send dogs vaccinated, dewormed, with a spot-on, with correct paperwork. To show how they were serious about it, they produced a “protocol” that both parties signed containing all those promises. Then they sent 8 dogs. And…. the dogs were not vaccinated, they were last time dewormed a year before and never had a spot-on in their lives.

Moreover, they dogs they sent to us were all very scared. Like if they chose the most scared dogs in the kennel…. Remi…. poor Remi. Apparently he was found with his leg caught in a hunter´s trap and the leg could not be saved. He must have suffered so much. And then he was in a municipal pound for over a year. Understandably he is very scared. When we enter the kennel he runs into the house and he sits in the corner. When we go after him we can actually touch him, he lets us, but he is very scared.

He manages quite well on 3 legs. He walks, runs and sits without a problem. And he loves playing with his doggy friends.

We believe that with lots of time and patience he would gain confidence. But such exercise in the shelter is very difficult. Only at home with a constant human presence. After a few weeks however we can notice that he is less scared and he comes to sniff and lick our hands.
