Story, Personality, Others:

Boss was found in the middle of nowhere, in an isolated part of a forest, tied to a tree. It was by chance he was found. He was left there to die. He was desperated, jerking the short chain that kept him tied to the trunk of the tree. He was hungry and thirsty. He could have been there for days. He did not have a chip so it was impossible to track his ex-owner. Even if chipping the dogs is obligatory in Portugal people don´t do it and the laws are not implemented, noone checks it.

Boss was taken to a municipal kennel and then sent to us. He resulted to be such a great dog! Extremely gentle, cuddly, friendly. He loves human company. He is playful with other dogs. He walks well on the leash. He loves toys. Give him a toy and you have a happy dog! Just a great dog. As simple as that.

In the meantime we discovered that he was limping on his back legs. An X-ray was done and he had a hip displasia and dislocated head of the femur. He needed surgery and the most certain way of making him comfortable was to provide him with the new hip. Or actually a prothesis of a hip. He was operated in October 2021 and a prothesis was implanted in the right side of the hip, then he was operated again in January on the left side where just a head of the femur was removed. He recovered in no time, it is amazing how he runs and walk. You would never guess anything.
