Story, Personality, Others:
Simao was brought to the shelter when his owner died. We get increasingly more dogs whose owners die and the family is not considering to keep them. (“It is not my dog”). Very often they are old dogs, who lived their whole life at home, so coming to the shelter is sad and distressing for them. Given their age, they never get adopted. It is shocking how many families do not look for solutions for the pets of the diseased loved ones. Or maybe they were not so loved after all. And the dog is just a dog.

Simao is a friendly and gentle dog, he is lovely with people, obedient and good on the leash. He is friendly with other dogs.

Simao has lupus. It is unfortunately not curable but can be contriolled. Simao he is taking cortisone. He does have crying eyes and discoloured nose, which are the signs of lupus but he seems generally in good health.
