Story, Personality, Others:
Zorba was found laying on the road. Something happened, an accident maybe, maybe he was hit by a car. He could not walk but nothing was broken. He was taken to a municipal pound where he was put in a cage and left there. A whole month passed. Zorba was in pain, could not walk, but no assistance was given to him. During this month he was in pain so he was eating very little and at the end he was just skin and bones. He was left to die.

This is when they thought about doing something…. they sent a nearly dying dog to the private shelter (maybe they wanted him to die somewhere else). Zorba was not walking and not eating. He was in pain. But even then he never snapped, never got angry. He is an extremely gentle dog.

He was immediately taken to a vet clinic where he stayed for 3.5 months. Blood tests were done, medications were prescribed (at one point he was taking 7 different medications) and he went through an intensive physiotherapy cycle. It resulted in miracles. 3 months later Zorba could walk and even run. He also put on weight.

Zorba is now back to the shelter waiting for a loving home to appear for him. If you look at the movies, his walk is a bit stiff, but he is comfortable, he walks a lot, all over the shelter and he even runs. He is extremely gentle, very sweet with us and social with all other dogs. He is a fighter and for all he has been through, for all those humans that contributed to his suffering, now he deserves a loving home. To have the one human of his own that will love him.
