Rita’s owner died and his dogs ended up in a municipal pound and then they were brought to us. A very common story, happens all the time.
Rita lived all her life with another dog, Pincel and with a man, their owner. The conditions were extremely modest. For the owner and for the dogs. The owner said he liked his dogs but he kept them on the chain. He probably thought this is the place of the dog, to be on the chain.
Rita is extremely gentle. But also very sad and worried. After all she lost her home and her owner that she loved, even if he kept her on the chain. She is a very sensitive dog and a change affects her. She is sweet and cuddly and appreciates attention but she needs time to get used to the new environment.
But we can see she is not happy in the shelter and she would be so much better in a home.
She is good with other dogs and walks well on the leash.
