Story:
Millie and her two siblings were brought to the shelter in April 2018. They lived on the street. They were friendly but shy. They trusted people that were feeding them but they did not allow themselves to be touched. It was not easy to catch them but finally they were caught and brought to the shelter.
In the shelter they continued shy and fugitive but they also seemed happy dogs – they played and run around with other dogs.
We noticed an important improvement when Nina, a dog that was very social and friendly with people was added to their kennel. Nina taught them to trust people. They copied her.
Millie is the one of the three siblings that made the greatest progress. She already comes to people she knows, she trusts, she accepts a leash and she likes going on a walk. She is very gentle and still shy, especially with new people, but she has made a great improvement. Of course in a home, with a human attention focused on her she would improve even more.
