Story, Personality, Others:
This is Atlantis. She was born in July 2014, she was brought to the shelter together with her mum (Patty) and 6 other siblings. The puppies got adopted – yes, people want puppies as long as they are puppies. When they grow then there is not so much fun. We always ask for news and many people give but some people just disappear or say: yes yes, everything is fine. And that´s it. We try to make home visits after the adoption but it is impossible to visit everyone.

So Atlantis went to her new home in Setubal in September 2014. In April 2015 she entered into the municipal kennel of Alcacer do Sal, so around 50 km from her home. She was brought there because she was hit by car but the person that brought her said that she had been feeding her for weeks on the street.

She was hurt, the accident with the car affected her eye. She will not see on this eye anymore.

Milu called the woman to whom we rehomed the dog. She asked how Atlantis was doing and the woman said that Atlantis was fine, she was next to her right at that moment, she was such a nice dog… Milu told her that the dog was with us. The woman lied. She probably had abandoned her far from home.

We let a happy healthy puppy got to a home. We got back a traumatised dog who lies down at every brusque gesture from our side. A dog who is blind on one eye. How can this woman sleep at night?

Atlantis is very gentle. She wants to trust again. She follows people in the shelter and she appreciates cuddling. She likes other dogs and she plays with them. We hope that one day she can feel happy in a good home.
